The indefinite strike of "A" transporters continues

The indefinite strike of "A" carriers, which came into effect on Monday, continues.

As a result of the mobilizations and the fruitless meeting of the strikers with the managing company of the terminal in the port of Limassol, hundreds of containers remain stranded, with the result that trade is at risk of paralysis.

Speaking on the Morning Itinerary, the secretary of POVEK, Kyriakos Moustakas, said that if no solutions are provided, the protests will continue.

He referred to the problems that have been created with the increase in the size of the containers and the refusal - as he said - by the Department of Road Transport, to register about ten thousand bellows carts.

In the event that there are no positive developments, tomorrow for solidarity purposes, the transporters of building materials and gravel will be added to the strikers, and from Monday, the transporters of grain and animal feed.
