With a package of proposals, the President of the Republic arrives at the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to information from the envoy of the RIK, Tasos Christodoulou, among others there are proposals for the transfer to Ukraine of all the foreign ministers of the European Union, the establishment of a Council of General Affairs on Ukrainian soil and the transfer of the deputy minister for European affairs and the responsible enlargement commissioner to Kyiv.
President Christodoulidis will also invite Volodymyr Zelensky to participate in the April informal Summit in Cyprus as well as to attend the opening ceremony of the Cyprus presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In the discussions that Nikos Christodoulidis and Volodymyr Zelensky will have, it is expected that the situation on Ukrainian soil and the developments regarding the negotiations with Moscow will also be discussed.
The President of the Republic will also refer to the sanctions against Russia noting the non-application of states such as Turkey.
Regarding the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, President Christodoulidis is expected to note that Nicosia is ready to open chapters for discussion, noting however the obstacles raised by Hungary.
