Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó is proposing that the managing company of the Turkstream pipeline move its headquarters from the Netherlands to Hungary in order to circumvent sanctions imposed on Moscow's energy products.
The proposal comes as the subsidiary of Kremlin-controlled Gazprom faces legal disputes at its headquarters in the Netherlands over Russia's attacks on Ukraine.
The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that by transferring the headquarters of the management company to Hungary, Turkstream will be able to operate without interruption, in the next period, despite any legal and financial affairs.
