Trump threatens to cut federal funding to New York if Mamdani is elected

Donald Trump announces that federal funding for New York will be withheld if the Democrat, Zoran Mamdani, a Muslim by religion, is elected mayor of the city.

Due to the inability of the Republican candidate to run for mayor, the American president favors the election of the independent and former Democrat, Andrew Cuomo.

Opinion polls give the lead to Mamdani, who has promised free bus rides and free crèches.

If he wins today's election process, Mamdani will be the first Muslim mayor in the history of New York
